Month of May, 2021

Image
Well, May was an entirely interesting month.  Aunt Vicki was here for many days and she took good care of me.  She played with me and then I'd get tired and sleep near her in case she wanted to play again. She had a birthday on Cinqa de Mayo and PM took her to lunch with Paula [who also had her birthday on that day] and Cindi [who isn't going to be here on her 6/6 birthday].  Paula is very talented and made AV a shirt which has MY photo on it!  It's the whole truth!!  Here's PM and AV and then AV in her new shirt! PM had to take AV to the airport on Mother's Day but before she did, PM decided to take a tumble.  She said she was OK to drive and didn't have a headache or anything, but in a few days, she looked pretty colorful! She's much less colorful now. PM got a new kitchen table and I like it a lot because I can go under it an watch her while she eats! We had a bad rain storm and our shed in the backyard nearly got washed away.  It's a good thi...

Oh, my goodness, but it's been a nice April.  The first several days were very windy and all that squiggly stuff fell off the big red oak tree and I did my very best to bring as much of it as I could into the house.  PM wasn't too thrilled but it got in her hair too when we went for walks. PM always takes me to the place where she gets her meals and that's fun because I get to see other people in cars and walking.  She also took me to a new place - where she gets money, whatever that is.  We stayed in the car and a lady talked to her but I couldn't see the lady.  Then magically, money appeared so PM can buy me stuff . . . like one of those In n Out burgers.  I'm still waiting.  Maybe when Aunt Vicki comes they'll get some and let me taste it. PM doesn't typically snack in front of me but one day she did, and dropped a wheat thin on her desk.  Well, guess what! I have long legs and a determined spirit! Oh, Heaven's to Betsy!  PM took me to the...

April 4, 2021 - Happy Easter

Image
Well, life seems to be getting in the way of my blogging!!  I'm having a whole lot of fun with my PM now that the weather is so doggone nice. We did a lot of stuff since I last posted but I've still not gotten to taste an In n Out burger.  Maybe when Aunt Vicki comes in a few weeks! We went for lots of rides in PM's car and I really like my car seat because I can see other dogs walking and even saw a few other dogs in cars. PM got me a trainer, Dee, who came to our house two times.  I like her but I think I'm smarter than she is. Why, you ask? Well, I don't have to do anything I don't want to and PM feeds me and takes me for walks and rides and gives me treats.  And naps!!  I take lots of naps.  Dee told PM to get this special collar to keep me from pulling on my leash but I'm not a fan.  I sometimes try to hide under the dining room table so PM can't get to me. I met a few new four-legged friends. One was Mr. Bojangles who came with his PPs to v...

Tuesday turned out to be a very nice day.  Aunt Andrea and Uncle Bill who live on the other side and whose dog, Maggie, passed over the Rainbow Bridge a few weeks ago, were dog-sitting Mavis, who is a beautiful Aussie!  She's several years older than I am but very tolerant of young pups.  PM and I walked with them and Uncle Bill even carried me for a while.  I really like AA and UB and I think they like me as well. On the 10th of every month, PM gives me a Trifexis pill in the middle of a spoonful of peanut butter. I like that and PM says it will protect me against heart worm, fleas and ticks.  PM takes such good care of me.  I'm still walking like my PB, Steve, taught me and it makes my PM very happy.  We've taken two long walks today but it's pretty windy out there so I have to work extra hard to stay grounded! On Thursday, I got to go for a ride to PM's CPA and along the way I saw two dogs.  I think I'm going to like going for car rides. ...

Well, I'm thrilled to report that this week is certainly turning out better than last week. Monday was just a nice day.  PM and I did four nice walks around the neighborhood.  There are some very nice folks in the neighbor and several fun dogs for me to play around with.  One of the dogs I don't see very often is Jedi, a PomSky. I might have already posted a photo of him but he's cute enough to post it again! On Tuesday, I got to go for a ride in my new car seat without having to see the vet or groomer - that was SOO fun!  PM had to go to Front Porch Pantry to pick up a few ready made meals for her to have on hand when she doesn't feel like cooking - or she doesn't feel like trying to think of something to cook.  She was able to watch me while I was in my seat because she pulled up right in front of the door and I didn't bark or cry one time.  And since she'd ordered in advance, she didn't have to go into the store.  She hasn't shared any tastes ...

March 1, 2021 OH MY WORD!!!

Image
I'm so very sorry I've not updated my blog in a while but I had a very traumatic second half of February. So, I told you about the Arctic Freeze and thankfully, for my PM, no pipes froze completely. She had a little flood when the drain to the thing that washes her clothes was partially frozen. It looked like fun to me but she made me stay in our room so she could mop it up.   The weather warmed up but then on Monday, the 22nd, PM put me in my new car seat and I thought I was going to get that In n Out burger Patrick had, but NOOOOOO, she to me to my doggie doc.  Everyone there is very nice and they all love me, of course, but I was there nearly all day and even though I slept through the bad part, I wanted to go home.  When my PM came to get me, I had this elegantly named Elizabethan Collar on so I couldn't go after my stitches but I couldn't get comfortable so PM took it off. She held me the rest of the day.   My doggie doc told PM that I would drool a lot be...

OK, I'm late putting this together but I have a very good reason.  Actually, I have several good reasons.  One reason is that PM took me to a place to get groomed.  It was a new place and PM was permitted to actually enter the store.  I was very nervous but PM said I looked good.  They didn't put frilly things on my ears and I smelled good.  Not that I ever smell bad, of course, but this scent was nice.  They did, however, put a soft paper bandana around my neck.  It was green which is one of PM's favorite colors but it didn't last too long.  I like to just let my natural beauty shine through. While we were at that store, PM got me a proper car seat and now I can see out the windows, just like a real person.  PM plans on taking me on outings once this horrible weather goes away.  I'm still interested in that In n Out burger PM got for Patrick. The week was, for the most part, uneventful.  PM had a dental appointment for a...
